About the Role
Sellers Dorsey is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant who will be responsible for assigned general ledger accounts, month-end close activities, balance-sheet reconciliations, journal entries, supporting schedules, and financial analysis. As the Staff Accountant, you will support Success Revenue accounting, internal controls, audit and tax requests, NetSuite and process improvements, and provide cross-training coverage across accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash, and invoicing. You will also prepare accurate, review-ready work, investigate differences, follow established policies and procedures, and escalate complex or judgmental matters to senior accounting team members.
Key Responsibilities
Perform assigned month-end and year-end close activities, including preparation and posting of recurring journal entries, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, expense schedules, supporting attachments, corrections, and close documentation.
Prepare assigned balance-sheet reconciliations, investigate reconciling items, resolve differences on a timely basis, and maintain clear review-ready support.
Prepare recurring Success Revenue schedules and workflow support after phased training; support routine schedules and workpapers for more complex revenue arrangements while escalating significant judgments.
Prepare detailed P&L variance analysis and related regional, sub-region, and account-level reporting reconciliations; clearly explain material or unusual activity.
Provide practical backup coverage for selected AP, AR, invoicing, cash, and collection activities, including invoice entry or coding, cash-sheet updates, payment application, aging follow-up, vendor or customer questions, and agreed close tasks.
Prepare assigned internal-control evidence, complete routine monitoring, and maintain approved SOPs, close checklists, job aids, and process documentation.
Support financial statement audit, tax, and other compliance requests by preparing recurring schedules, organizing PBC support, retrieving documentation, and tracking open requests.
Participate in NetSuite testing, accounting validation, reconciliations, issue tracking, and accounting support for system and process improvements, including NetSuite Planning and Budgeting.
Complete supervised cross-training and backup cycles for assigned processes and assist with recurring internal or external accounting requests, account research, data pulls, schedule updates, and follow-up.
Key Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
CPA eligible, actively pursuing CPA licensure, or interested in progressing toward CPA licensure is preferred.
Minimum of 2–4 years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on work with general ledger activities, month-end close, journal entries, balance-sheet reconciliations, and financial analysis.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Strong Excel skills required).
Ability to learn and use financial systems, reporting tools, and supporting applications.
Additional Preferred Experience
Working knowledge of GAAP and controlled accounting processes.
Experience preparing review-ready workpapers and investigating account differences.
NetSuite ERP experience a plus.
Concur experience a plus.
Exposure to revenue accounting, AP, AR, cash, audit support, internal controls, or process documentation is preferred.
Experience in a professional services or consulting environment is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated salary range for candidates is $65,500/year to up to $82,000/year. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, and the candidate’s education. Typically, candidates are not hired near the top of the range and compensation decisions are made based upon Sellers Dorsey’s Total Compensation Policies & Guidelines. The successful candidate will also be eligible to participate in our annual Corporate Incentive Plan (CIP) that can range to up to 7% of annual salary.
Provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, the successful candidate (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, and vision and for insurance plans offering short term disability, long term disability, and basic life. Employees are also able to enroll in Sellers Dorsey’s 401k plan provided they meet plan requirements. Sellers Dorsey offers a Flexible Time Off that allows employees to use what they need.
